TEACHING & EVENTS

Speaking & Corporate Events
Stephen has been invited to give talks and workshops that explore what it means to be reconstruct after fracture, and to continue after loss.
Drawing on his experience of rebuilding both his hand function and a musical life after a serious accident, he speaks about how meaning can be re-earned when structure breaks and how identity does not end, but changes and carries on.
His work offers audiences not just inspiration, but a route to understanding resilience, adaptation, and reframing adversity not as an end, but as a beginning shaped differently.

Piano Teaching
Education stands as a fundamental pillar in Stephen's work as an artist. Understanding the important responsibility, Stephen approaches teaching with the same care, curiosity, and commitment that he brings to the stage.
Stephen's teaching philosophy is centred around guiding students toward intellectual and artistic independence, helping them develop not only technical accomplishment, but also imagination, confidence, and a deep personal connection to their music.
Equally important is cultivating a healthy and sustainable relationship with the instrument. Stephen emphasises efficient physical use, and long-term wellbeing so that students can enjoy a lifetime of music-making.
Stephen frequently organises concerts and recitals for students, to promote and encourage performance opportunities in the community along with regular examination preparation.
